Well, spoiler alert though, this read may just spill some of those beans. So do delve into it and keep yourself hanging in there till the end to know why it really is in the best interest for you to squeeze-in that break-a-sweat session into your busy day… Honestly, what could be a better time for me to draft this blog and for you to be reading it than this pandemic struck situation the world is suffering where everyone is limited to the 4 walls of their homes. Why do I say so? Because — A) you’re at home majority of the time, B) studies show that the rates of self-esteem issues & anxiety attacks have relatively sky-rocketed over this period, and C) you really don’t need to be anywhere else but at home

Time to make the unconscious concious

Image
Time to make the unconscious conscious Just a few months ago, who could have predicted that the world would be staring down the barrel of a spiraling health predicament and economic crisis unlike any witnessed in an eternity? Now, in a society gripped by the terror of a foraying virus, mental health is emerging as a pressing concern. Image credit: pixabay.com The Coronavirus pandemic has made people conscious about innumerable factors that they have been overlooking in their normal lives before this virus showed up. People have always been occupied with their work, be it their jobs, education, families, and what not! This virus has made us aware of the numerous things that we wouldn’t have noticed earlier. Over the years we’ve been ignorant of our health and mental well-being because we were so busy and pre-occupied by the workload and daily commitments. Stress, anxiety, deadlines, depression, etc. have always overpowered our lives without us actually rejoicing in the evanescence of li

Freedom

Image
FREEDOM. What if I say you are reading this not by your will? what if I say whatever you have been doing since your birth till now might be predetermined? No, I am not talking about fate and all that religious stuff. There is this concept in physics called  causality . Causality is the influence by which one event, process, state, or object contributes to the production of another event, process, state, or object. which in simple terms can be said that for one event to happen there must be an event that must have caused it. Any a n d every decision you make in real life are completely based on your thought. Now comes the interesting part, are we even responsible for our thoughts. If yes that means we have thought the thought before we actually had that thought. If you have no control over what thoughts you will get, where is free will? let me tell you something interesting about ants. When ants are infected by a type of fungus called  Ophiocordyceps unilateralis They are no longer in c

Identity

Image
Identity. We often wonder “who am I?” This is one of my favorite topics to explore. Let me begin by asking you something interesting. Theseus (a man) had a ship. As the ship needed repair, it was replaced part by part, up to a point where not a single part of the original ship remained in it, anymore. Is it, then, still the same ship? If all the discarded parts were used to build another ship, which of the two, if either, is the real Ship of Theseus? That’s a clas s ic philosophical paradox of identity. Would you still be you if all the organs in your body get replaced? If yes, then what are we if not a collection of organs working together in complete harmony. What is that something that stays the same even if we replace all the organs? Let me confuse a little more, There are 10 times more microorganisms than cells in our body. We often assume we are this monolithic entity, but we are an ecosystem. So when I say “I” does that refer to the whole ecosystem or something else? Is whole eq

Purpose

Image
Purpose. Imagine you started playing a new just-released game. What is one of the few questions that pop into your mind? I don’t know about you, but I would ask at some point, what is the objective of the game. And this is one of the basic questions we humans about their existence too. What are they here for? What is “the purpose of my life?” A lot of people say you do have a p u rpose go discover it. And a lot of religious crap (sorry). A few other people may say the purpose of life is to find “happiness” so on and so forth.  ( I think happiness is a scam will write about it soon  😂 ) Here is what I think. We are just another species living on a small rock in the infinite vast space filled with trillion other rocks and a million galaxies we are basically inconsequential. We are just any other animal. The purpose of any animal to survive and reproduce. That is it nothing more, nothing less. So I think we have the same basic objectives in this game of life. We, as a whole species have

5G Boon or Bane

5G: BOON OR BANE When the 5th Generation of mobile communication and networking was introduced in early 2020, it grabbed a lot of attention. With 5G, augmented reality can be made possible in real-time. Remotely operated robotic surgeons can be used for healthcare in areas where good healthcare can’t be provided. Search and rescue missions can be carried out by swarms of drones combing the disaster-prone area. 5G can bring speed of around 10 Gigabits per second to your phone. This is more than 600 times the typical 4G speed. This means that you can download games from Steam in under 20 seconds and a 4K movie in 25 seconds. But the catch is that 5G networks will have very less network coverage. This is because of the high-frequency waves 5G networks will be using. The lack of range can be considered as a trade-off for the very high download speed the network can offer. 5G networks when brought into the mainstream would require a network tower every  500 meters.  In contrast, a 4G GSM to

Are All men Trash

Are All Men are Trash ???? Often you might have heard this phrase but if haven’t you’re lucky because what usually follows this phrase is an unending argument ‘not all men’.My opinion on this matter is reserved between the gray area of ‘yes’ and ‘no’,therefore I request you to read this article through a naked mind. Disown all your presumptions and read the following piece as a five year old ,curious as to what a teacher is talking about.Through this article I wouldn’t give my opinion rather I will present you with facts and request you to introspect. Coming back , “All men are Trash”, what’s the first thought in your mind when you hear this phrase ?I assume some of you might feel angry, some of you might agree wholeheartedly to this opinion, and some might think this a first world problem.Whatever your opinion might be, I often wondered the cause and the accuracy of this phrase. If you count the number of violent crimes that have been done against women in our society ,you might find

The Positive Impact of COVID-19

Image
The Positive Impact of COVID-19 Nature is relaxing   Despite the coronavirus threatening the world, it has some positive sides too. As the Covid-19 pandemic continues its blow, one can witness dramatic changes in people’s lives. And it already overshadowed other medical problems. Doctors and researchers notice unexpectedly positive side effects of the abrupt shifts in human behaviors in response to the pandemic. Moreover, prolonged lockdown is relieving nature with a reduction in human activities. Skies are bluer, the crime rates are lower. Due to the lockdown, the pollution level fell dramatically and is still heading down. Nitrogen dioxide (NO2) is a toxic gas liberated from buses, cars, factories, etc. According to WHO, NO2 causes significant inflammation of the airways (lungs and trachea) at concentrations above 200 micrograms/m3. Now, vehicles and factories are under shutdown which results in the decrement of NO2 concentrations. Polluted cities like Chennai, Delhi, Bhilai etc. hav

What would happen if Muhammad Ali Jinnah became the prime minister of India instead of Jawaharlal Nehru?

Image
What would happen if Muhammad Ali Jinnah became the prime minister of India instead of Jawaharlal Nehru? In an interview in Goa, the fourteenth Dalai Lama stated, “India would have remained a united country if Jinnah had become the first prime minister.” He further added, “I think Mahatma Gandhi was very much willing to give the prime ministership to Jinnah, but Pandit Nehru refused. I think Pandit Nehru was a bit self-centered.” This news by NDTV blew up on social media. Later in 2019, BJP candidate Gumansingh Damor also said, “Had Jawaharlal Nehru not been so obstinate at the time of Independence, India would not have been divided,” while campaigning for his party for the ongoing Lok Sabha Elections. This raised the question among the public, ‘What if Jinnah became the first prime minister of India?’ Muhammad Ali Jinnah  was a barrister, politician, and founder of Pakistan. Jinnah served as the leader of the All-India Muslim League from 1913 until Pakistan’s creation on 14 August 194

Our Education system is under attack

Image
Our Education under attack. The morning of October 9, 2012, 15-year-old Malala Yousafzai had been shot by the Taliban on her way home from school. This, as we recall, had been because she had the audacity to speak out against the injustice inflicted on her fellow citizens, where they were denied basic human rights such as the right to education. She aroused a flurry of action, leaving behind significant impact in her wake. But sadly, it had not been enough. Children today, in the countries in open conflict, continue being denied the basic necessities in life, education among them. As a continuation of the efforts to raise awareness about the plight of million children across the world, United Nations General Assembly came to a unanimous decision on May 29, 2020, to declare September 9, 2020, as the International Day to Protect Education from Attack. The resolution was proposed by the state of Qatar, co-sponsored by 62 countries. Across the world, 35 countries suffer from crisis and oft

Yemen , in Despair

Image
Yemen, in Despair The beautiful country of Yemen is situated on the south end of the Arabian Peninsula in the Middle East. With a total population of 30.5 million, it has been declared as the poorest country in the Middle East. The country has been a home to prolonged wars since 2015 and this has taken a huge toll on the economy of the nation and devastated the nation’s public. People have lost their will to live, and the children have been affected terribly. The wars, food shortage, water crisis, lack of education will be the highlights of their childhood memories. Many people find themselves with no option other than to step out of their homes and walk long distances to collect basic necessities like water at the source nearest to them. It is difficult to even imagine going through cumbersome times like what Yemen is facing today. “We are not an advanced species — not when millions of our sisters and brothers still go hungry — not when countless of our siblings still don’t have a roo

Lebanon: A tale of woe

Image
Lebanon: A tale of woe Lebanon, fondly known as the Pearl of the Middle East is unfortunately no stranger to tragedies. They have faced a prolonged brutal civil war, a foreign occupation, revolutions and assassinations of important political leaders. So, the beautiful myth of Lebanon as a would-be paradise was shattered well before the latest blow to the city that has been grappling with many crises. It is currently recovering from what might be it’s worst economic crisis since the civil war and an explosion that sent shock waves across the world, destroying much of the city’s port, claiming lives and damaging property all through the capital and plunging the country further into the crisis state. On the afternoon of 4 August 2020, two explosions rocked the port of Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. The explosions were tremendously powerful and left the city in ruins, and caused at least 171 deaths, 6,000 injuries, billions in property damage, and left over 300,000 people homeless. The ex

Waste Management in India

Image
Challenges faced in waste management’-Indian Scenario. The key to efficient waste management is to ensure segregation source and resource recovery . A typical Landfill in Mumbai. Most recyclable waste ends up in a dump yard due to the lack of efficient waste management. Waste management rules in India are based on the principles of “sustainable development”, “precaution” and “polluter pays”. These principles mandate municipalities and commercial establishments to act in an environmentally accountable and responsible manner—restoring balance, if their actions disrupt it. The increase in waste generation as a by-product of economic development has led to various subordinate legislations for regulating the manner of disposal and dealing with generated waste are made under the umbrella law of Environment Protection Act, 1986 (EPA ) . Explicit types of waste are the topic of isolated principles and require separate compliances, mostly in the nature of authorisations, maintenance of records

On this date in 1999 India successfully took command of the high outposts which had been lost to Pakistan. The war ended with India regaining control of all the previously held territory. When where and how? * The war took place between May and July of 1999 in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kargil district. * The conflict is believed to have been orchestrated by the then Pakistan army chief General Pervez Musharraf without the knowledge of the then Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Shari
