Often you might have heard this phrase but if haven’t you’re lucky because what usually follows this phrase is an unending argument ‘not all men’.My opinion on this matter is reserved between the gray area of ‘yes’ and ‘no’,therefore I request you to read this article through a naked mind. Disown all your presumptions and read the following piece as a five year old ,curious as to what a teacher is talking about.Through this article I wouldn’t give my opinion rather I will present you with facts and request you to introspect. Coming back , “All men are Trash”, what’s the first thought in your mind when you hear this phrase ?I assume some of you might feel angry, some of you might agree wholeheartedly to this opinion, and some might think this a first world problem.Whatever your opinion might be, I often wondered the cause and the accuracy of this phrase. The Positive Impact of COVID-19

The Positive Impact of COVID-19 Nature is relaxing   Despite the coronavirus threatening the world, it has some positive sides too. As the Covid-19 pandemic continues its blow, one can witness dramatic changes in people’s lives. And it already overshadowed other medical problems. Doctors and researchers notice unexpectedly positive side effects of the abrupt shifts in human behaviors in response to the pandemic. Moreover, prolonged lockdown is relieving nature with a reduction in human activities. Skies are bluer, the crime rates are lower. Due to the lockdown, the pollution level fell dramatically and is still heading down. Nitrogen dioxide (NO2) is a toxic gas liberated from buses, cars, factories, etc. According to WHO, NO2 causes significant inflammation of the airways (lungs and trachea) at concentrations above 200 micrograms/m3. Now, vehicles and factories are under shutdown which results in the decrement of NO2 concentrations. Polluted cities like Chennai, Delhi, Bhilai etc. hav

What would happen if Muhammad Ali Jinnah became the prime minister of India instead of Jawaharlal Nehru?

What would happen if Muhammad Ali Jinnah became the prime minister of India instead of Jawaharlal Nehru? In an interview in Goa, the fourteenth Dalai Lama stated, “India would have remained a united country if Jinnah had become the first prime minister.” He further added, “I think Mahatma Gandhi was very much willing to give the prime ministership to Jinnah, but Pandit Nehru refused. I think Pandit Nehru was a bit self-centered.” This news by NDTV blew up on social media. Later in 2019, BJP candidate Gumansingh Damor also said, “Had Jawaharlal Nehru not been so obstinate at the time of Independence, India would not have been divided,” while campaigning for his party for the ongoing Lok Sabha Elections. This raised the question among the public, ‘What if Jinnah became the first prime minister of India?’ Muhammad Ali Jinnah  was a barrister, politician, and founder of Pakistan. Jinnah served as the leader of the All-India Muslim League from 1913 until Pakistan’s creation on 14 August 194

Our Education system is under attack

Image
Our Education under attack. The morning of October 9, 2012, 15-year-old Malala Yousafzai had been shot by the Taliban on her way home from school. This, as we recall, had been because she had the audacity to speak out against the injustice inflicted on her fellow citizens, where they were denied basic human rights such as the right to education. She aroused a flurry of action, leaving behind significant impact in her wake. But sadly, it had not been enough. Children today, in the countries in open conflict, continue being denied the basic necessities in life, education among them. As a continuation of the efforts to raise awareness about the plight of million children across the world, United Nations General Assembly came to a unanimous decision on May 29, 2020, to declare September 9, 2020, as the International Day to Protect Education from Attack. The resolution was proposed by the state of Qatar, co-sponsored by 62 countries. Across the world, 35 countries suffer from crisis and oft

Yemen , in Despair

Image
Yemen, in Despair The beautiful country of Yemen is situated on the south end of the Arabian Peninsula in the Middle East. With a total population of 30.5 million, it has been declared as the poorest country in the Middle East. The country has been a home to prolonged wars since 2015 and this has taken a huge toll on the economy of the nation and devastated the nation’s public. People have lost their will to live, and the children have been affected terribly. The wars, food shortage, water crisis, lack of education will be the highlights of their childhood memories. Many people find themselves with no option other than to step out of their homes and walk long distances to collect basic necessities like water at the source nearest to them. It is difficult to even imagine going through cumbersome times like what Yemen is facing today. “We are not an advanced species — not when millions of our sisters and brothers still go hungry — not when countless of our siblings still don’t have a roo

Lebanon: A tale of woe

Image
Lebanon: A tale of woe Lebanon, fondly known as the Pearl of the Middle East is unfortunately no stranger to tragedies. They have faced a prolonged brutal civil war, a foreign occupation, revolutions and assassinations of important political leaders. So, the beautiful myth of Lebanon as a would-be paradise was shattered well before the latest blow to the city that has been grappling with many crises. It is currently recovering from what might be it’s worst economic crisis since the civil war and an explosion that sent shock waves across the world, destroying much of the city’s port, claiming lives and damaging property all through the capital and plunging the country further into the crisis state. On the afternoon of 4 August 2020, two explosions rocked the port of Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. The explosions were tremendously powerful and left the city in ruins, and caused at least 171 deaths, 6,000 injuries, billions in property damage, and left over 300,000 people homeless. The ex

Waste Management in India

Challenges faced in waste management’-Indian Scenario. The key to efficient waste management is to ensure segregation source and resource recovery . A typical Landfill in Mumbai. Most recyclable waste ends up in a dump yard due to the lack of efficient waste management. Waste management rules in India are based on the principles of “sustainable development”, “precaution” and “polluter pays”. These principles mandate municipalities and commercial establishments to act in an environmentally accountable and responsible manner—restoring balance, if their actions disrupt it. The increase in waste generation as a by-product of economic development has led to various subordinate legislations for regulating the manner of disposal and dealing with generated waste are made under the umbrella law of Environment Protection Act, 1986 (EPA ) . Explicit types of waste are the topic of isolated principles and require separate compliances, mostly in the nature of authorisations, maintenance of records
